New menu at Loft restaurant – we checked the lunch prices

Soup and main course for 34 PLN

Many people working at Epirusworld asked us about the real costs of eating on-site. As of September 16, Loft introduced a flat price for the daily set, which is exactly 34.50 PLN. For this price, we get a soup (usually 250 ml) and a meat or vegetarian main course to choose from. We chose the classic white vegetable cream with truffle oil and pork tenderloin in chanterelle sauce. The portion was so large that two of our colleagues from the IT department couldn't manage to order dessert, which rarely happens in their case.

If you don't want the full set, you can order the soup alone for 11 PLN or a grilled chicken salad for 27 PLN. These are fair rates for Katowice, especially since you don't have to waste time commuting downtown and looking for a parking spot. It's worth mentioning that the menu changes daily, and information about what will be served appears on the board at the elevator entrance as early as 8:45 AM. Thanks to this, you know whether it's worth going down while you're having your morning coffee.

The staff at Loft restaurant knows that people working in offices have little time. Payment is made at the bar or at the table, and the terminals work without glitches. This is important because no one likes waiting 10 minutes for the check when an important meeting on the 4th floor starts soon. Last Wednesday, we received the check for 3 people in 45 seconds after asking the waiter, which is a result worth noting in our tenant log.

The lunch set for 34.50 PLN is currently one of the best options in this part of Katowice, considering the portion size.

Waiting time – stopwatch in hand

We did a small test and sat at the table at exactly 12:12 PM, right at the lunch peak. Loft restaurant has 47 seats, and 38 of them were occupied at that moment. Despite the heavy traffic, the waiter approached us within 3 minutes of taking our seats. We ordered three daily sets and two sparkling waters. The soups appeared on the table at 12:18 PM, which is 6 minutes later. This is an excellent result, considering the kitchen had to serve several larger groups from other companies at Epirusworld at the same time.

The main course arrived at 12:27 PM. The entire process of eating a two-course dinner took exactly 29 minutes. This means that even with a standard half-hour break, you are able to eat a warm meal without rushing and return to your desk on time. For comparison, a trip to the nearest shopping mall would take us about 12 minutes one way, not counting the time searching for a parking spot, which we have at hand under our office building.

It is worth adding that Loft also offers a 'takeaway' option in ecological boxes. If you are having an exceptionally hard day and need to finish a report, you can call the internal number and pick up the food after 15 minutes. The packaging costs 2 PLN, but it is solid and the food does not get cold on the way up the elevator to higher floors. We saw that quite a few people from Northmark use this option regularly, picking up packages around 1:00 PM.

Coffee for 7 PLN at your desk

For permanent tenants of Epirusworld, the restaurant has prepared a special bonus. If you show your office access card, you can get an espresso or black coffee with lunch for 7 PLN. The normal price is 11 PLN, so with daily visits, the savings over a month become substantial. The coffee comes from a local roastery and doesn't taste like free swill from a machine. It's strong, aromatic, and gets you back on your feet for the afternoon block of work.

We also checked the cake selection. On Thursday, cheesecake with raspberry mousse was served for 16 PLN. The portion was so large it could easily suffice for two people for afternoon coffee. Loft doesn't go overboard with sugar, which is a big plus for many people caring about their fitness (and using our on-site gym). The kitchen tries to use seasonal fruit, which is visible in the changing dessert toppings every week.

There are days when it gets really loud in Loft, especially when three companies drop by for a break at once. If you're planning a talk about a raise or delicate negotiations with a client there, we recommend tables at the back of the room, behind the wooden partition. It's quieter there and you can talk calmly over coffee. Booking a table for a specific time is free and can be arranged with a short call to Ms. Anna, who manages the floor.

Coffee from a local roastery for 7 PLN is a nice addition that actually saves a few pennies in the tenant's wallet.

How to book a table for tomorrow?

If you're planning a larger team outing, for example for 8-12 people, it's best to let the staff know a day in advance. Loft has one long table that is ideal for such occasions. Just send a message to [email protected] or drop by in person after breakfast. We reserved a spot for our 6-person project team for Thursday, and the table was waiting for us punctually at 1:15 PM, with menus and water already prepared.

For those who want specific info: the kitchen serves lunches from 12:14 PM to 3:45 PM. After this time, the restaurant switches to the evening menu, which is slightly more expensive but also more extensive. If you're late for lunch, there are always sandwiches and salads in the display by the bar, which are discounted by 30% after 4:00 PM. This is a good option for those staying in the office after hours to finish projects before the weekend.

In summary, the new menu at Loft is a step in the right direction. Prices are predictable, food is fresh, and the service understands that time is money in an office building. You won't find gimmicks here, just a proper dinner after which you won't want to sleep for the rest of the day. We especially recommend the Thursday beef cheeks – they usually disappear from the menu before 2:00 PM, so it's worth hurrying.
